Digital storytelling reflection.

It has been a few weeks working on our storytelling project. We have met self-employed residents of the Slocan Valley. These people all have connections to W.E. Graham. Our interviewees either have a child that is attending or has attended the school, or they interact on a regular basis every year with students that pursue their education at W.E. Graham Community school.
To my students, I will ask you to look back at the past few weeks and the storytelling project. I would like you to share some reflections on several points.
1. What are the various things that you have learned during this project? They can be about a certain aspect of the project (technology, learning to put a movie together. learning to interview a person) or you could have learned something interesting about a person.
2.  What was the most challenging part of this project?
3. What was the most fun part of the project (apart from Fomi's treats)?
4. Would you do again a similar project if you had an opportunity? Why?

I have learned how to make it a movie (using specail fx)and it was very interesting on how they started their buisness.

The most challenging part was putting the movie together. We had to make it short,so we had to cut out all the parts that werent important and make it three minutes.

(aww)Well, the best part was being able to actaully be a part of this because not everyone gets to have this expieriance. Also, getting to know these poeple better because i knew a little about them, but now i know alot.

Well,it was hard and stressfull so i might do it again, maybe not with interviewing because i already interviewed so i will whant to put together a movie that is about something new.

We have learned how to do a proper interview and how to use cameras. The most challenging thing about doing a proper interview is making sure we have open ended questions. The most fun part about the project is seeing how people run their business and we learned their stories. I would do a similar project if I had the chance, beacuse I like working with cameras.

We've learned how to use cameras and how to use Sony Vegas. We also learned how to talk to people and how to use open ended questions. The most challenging part was probably to make each interview 3 minutes long. The other hard part was probably making the questions. The most fun part was seeing every ones businesses. Everyone was nice and gave us treats at the end! I would do another project similar to this because I really like to film and I had a lot of fun doing this project. I had a really fun time!

We have learned how to work the cameras and how to us Sony Vegas. We also learned to ask open ended questions to the person you are interviewing and how to have a good interview.
The most challenging part for me was when we were editing and putting the movie together on Sony Vegas. Each movie had to be only 3 minutes long.
The best part of this project was going to all the different businesses and learning their stories. All of the people we met were very nice.
I would do a similar project because I liked to film the movies and it was very fun.

I did not have any virous things
exepet, it was a little bit of a strugle getting the movie totally complete and getting it ready to show. I would like my perents to be proud of me for the work im doing and the work im done. The most challenging part of the project is putting it together and making it as perfect as i can. The mostfun thing of the projet is getting to know all the people we interviewed just a little more and to know what they all do for a living. I would love to do a simalar project if i had the opportunitysince i know how to work with all of it.

I have learned how to use a movie editing program (Sony Vegas). I learned how to put together a movie using footage of interviews, music, pictures and text.
Filming was the most fun part of the project for me., because I go to use a camera. Going to different locations was also fun.
I would be interested in doing a similar project if I had a chance.

I really liked inteviewing the buissnesses in the slocan valley. There was a lot of buissnesses in Slocan. There was buissnesses like: Ron and Sarah mulvey, Fomis, Weirdoughs, and the White pine dojo. The hardest part of this project was editing it. You had to do stuff like: Make rolling credits, Fade in and out, Type in the quistions of the interview (or atleast with th mulveys), and deal with the accidents that you make with the project like when you delete a lot of the work youve done. My favorite part of the project was visiting the buissnesses. Each buissness had a unique thing about themselves that was fun. For example, at the Mulveys it was very peaceful and they gave us tea, they also showed us the art exhibet and let us try a art website. We learned a lot about each buissness for example. With Perry (Weirdoughs) HE told us sour dough bread is a lot healthier for you the normal bread. The mulveys showed us their exhibet and told us how long it took for each of their paintings. Fomis told us that the secret to making sticky buns was never wash your dishes (eww). The dojo told us that ai means harmony ki means energy and do means the path. We were also supposed to interview other buissnesses in slocan like: rasberry rockets (band), Scott (rep), and a few others. If i had a chance to do another project like this id be very happy to i really liked this project thanks to Mr. derias this could happen

1. I learned about aikido and baking.
2. Making the movie was the hardest part for me because I did not know much about it.
3. The most fun part for me was filming interviews. Watching how food is made and tasting it was fun.
